I've been wondering where you are!! Of course I haven't done any post on my boys' blog in over a month, no pictures being taken, and for some reason I think there has to be a picture! I do it for their birth families, so hopefully they understand a lazy spell...
The raincoat thing -- I noticed this 10 years ago when I first moved from Soggy State to NYC -- no one wore hoods there (or gore-tex) -- they all had fancy umbrellas. But then the rain was different too -- really pouring or not at all, unlike here where it gently sprinkles off and on all day long, necessitating a hood to slip on and off bcs opening and closing an umbrella that often would be too much work. That's my theory, anyway ...

Umbrellas, yes - when it isn't windy, but is sooo rainy that your legs get wet too, you need an umbrella AND a raincoat.
Maybe there's matching hats???
Maybe umbrellas are prettier and don't mess up the hair..

Totally get the rain coat thing. So when I found a khaki trench coat with hood at Target- grabbed it immediately. Such a good purhase
