How We Left the Mall: A Pictoral

All-out tantrums while shopping are like car accidents. You know the odds are that one will happen to you at some point, but you still can't quite believe it when one does.

It turns out that carrying a berserk Puppy to the car so drained my energy that I was incapable of reading any books or playing with him when we returned home. It's too bad, don't you think? Puppy has been trying to put back my energy by being cooperative and fetching me items when I ask. It appears to be working so far. Heh.

How was your Friday?

Well, better than that, I guess!! I love the determined look on the face of the mom in your drawing.

Ahhh... I'm sorry that Puppy had such a rough time and you too. All I can say is "I know". This is my life with my 2yo Little Man right now. Everywhere, always. I have cleaned out my purse so many times waiting for him to calm down while we're in the grocery store and I'm sure all the old ladies that shop at 10% Tuesday go to coffee believing I do things that cause him to scream that way. Truth is that I have... it's called not letting him run 'round wild like he'd prefer.

And then he sleeps and I still love him even more, for having made it through another day. He will however need to have a tutorial from Puppy on how to make up to Mommy. My Little Man has not figured that one out yet. Hugs to you! To all of you!

LOL @ the spam comment there.

ANYWAY, my Friday was SURPRISINGLY better than yours! LOL.

Hang in. It gets better.

And worse.

And then better.

And then much worse.

And then better and worse in the same second.

And so on. :)

yeah man, i hear you. there are days where the whole lot of us is just cranky, and then there are the days that i refer to as "the dark days of parenting." and then, usually, the next day is awesome. we had some really rough ones this week, and then really great ones. and somehow it seems i am capable of being the worst parent in the world and the best. ever. parent, all in the same day... and of course neither is ever true.
i asked my 3 yo son the other day if he was going through puberty.

LOVE the picture! We've only had a couple tantrums around here, but they sapped my energy for the.entire.day. I just didn't recover.
