Saying no to:
- Feeling grumpy
- Letting people down
- Watching burn-out creep in
- Taking the time I need to finish things
- Being braver. Just a wee bit.
- Baking as much as I want, without apology
- Homemade Thanksgiving pies
- Firefly's laugh
- Warm, toasty waffles
- Not being able to hold all the pieces together
- All the possible endings for a loved one in crisis
- Doing the wrong thing
- The bugs which shall not be named but rhyme with dockpoaches
- Beautiful prose
- Puppy's childish enthusiasm
- Friends working for justice
- Fledgling family traditions
- Perfecting my twists
- Making time to read
- The rituals of Advent
- Fluffy white clouds of duvet
- Summer berries tucked away in the freezer
- Decisions made too late
- The week I should have stayed
- Grudges I held too long
- Being needed
- Being loved
- Being known
Beautiful! Loved reading this meme.
ReplyDelete@Prabha - Thanks!
ReplyDeleteNice meme. I haven't done one in a long time but I might have to try this one!
ReplyDeleteSaying no to feeling grumpy is a struggle for me :(

Excellent meme! Oh I would have to work on the no being grumpy one.

No. 2: the unfair struggle (mfi, speedskating, nanowrimo)
What is a meme ? I have been seeing this word all over blogs and I really don't know what it is. I'm from the province of Quebec...maybe it explains things ? :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm here in visit from the land of Icomleavwe and I loved your post, it inspired me !
Have a nice day.

ReplyDeleteFantastic meme - I'm with you on your three out of four of your scared of.
ReplyDeleteICLW
I think you took the words right out of my mouth (minus the Thanksgiving bit. I get giddy about all pies).
ReplyDeleteHappy ICLW!
I love this one and have not seen it. I'm doin' it now. Happy ICLW.
ReplyDeleteI really love your giddy about items. I ran out of my stash of waffles and dearly missed them today. Laughing, always great. Homemade Thanksgiving pies...that's what I am most looking forward to! I'm trying a new apple pie recipe from the coo.kinglight and whipping up some yummy pie crusts for the traditional pumpkin. Have a great weekend! ICLW :)
ReplyDeleteI love the meme. We are preparing for Advent as well although instead of and Advent calendar we do a Jesse Tree.
ReplyDeleteICWL
Woo hoo, this is cool! I love it! I too am a big fan of Advent rituals. One thing I am looking forward to doing with my future children is to have the nativity scene set up in a main room, but have all the pieces journey to the stable. Mary and Joseph come from the bedroom, the shepherds in the kitchen, etc. Each day getting a little closer... *sigh*
ReplyDelete@nh - Now I'm curious which of the four doesn't scare you! (Hopefully it's the one about a loved one in crisis. The world would be much better if no one was ever in that spot.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting and well done!

Great list. I love your 'giddy about' list, too. They made me smile. :)
ReplyDeleteNot quite sure this qualifies as a meme though.
Wonderful idea and wonderful list!
